Cliché but how long is a piece of string – every website and requirements are different. I’ll always make sure you have an understanding of the value of the SEO opportunity before you commit to anything. Indicative pricing – small one-off projects anywhere around the $3-5k mark, ongoing retainers for mid-sized businesses $5-7k+, and large businesses / complex projects $10k+ per month. As always, it depends!

Again how long is a piece of string – every website and situation is different. You could have a critical technical blocker in place that once removed, unlocks 30% growth immediately. Or you could be doing well and we can get little 5% wins here and there, but it’ll take 6 months of consistency to compound those efforts

No I can’t. Too many variables from Google, from the competitive landscape, from what you can or can’t implement and how fast you can move. Anyone promising guaranteed rankings or otherwise is manipulating data or choosing irrelevant metrics to measure. I will forecast and estimate what we can achieve together, but it’s not a guarantee.

  1. Solid, relatively well- established brand (1-3+ years) with a proven business model.
  2. Team of 10-20+, with a dedicated Marketing Director / Manager at the least.
  3. Ideally some internal capability with copywriting as well as PR / partnerships.
  4. Development capability and resource to change things on the website
If you don’t meet those and:

– You are new to market or a 3-person startup – SEO is generally not the channel that’s going to control your success the first two years. It can definitely help, but it’s not your biggest lever.
– You don’t have anyone internally focused on copy, comms or PR – you’ll probably get sub-optimal results from agencies or freelancers who don’t know your business. It can be done, but it’s not easy. And no, ChatGPT isn’t an A+ copywriter.
– You have no support or ability to change things on your website – there will be limitations to what can be achieved. I’m not a developer and will not implement anything directly.
